Welcome to the
Kingsclear Local Service District Website

The Kingsclear Local Service District (KLSD) encompasses the communities of Smithfield, Newmarket, Longs Creek, Upper Kingsclear, Mazerolle Settlement, Ludford Subdivision, Lower Kingsclear, French Village, Oswald Gray Subdivision and Island View in Kingsclear Parish, York County, in the province of New Brunswick, Canada.
The KLSD, with a population of approximately 2,800, is an unincorporated area of New Brunswick located just west of the capital city of Fredericton, comprised of rural residences, agricultural land, forest, small businesses and various forms of provincial infrastructure including the Mactaquac Dam, the Mactaquac Biodiversity Facility, and the Kingsclear Forest Nursery. The St. John River is a main feature of the area.

On September 29, 2015, members of a new Advisory Committee for the Kingslcear Local Service District (KLSD) were elected at a public meeting organized by staff of the Minister of Environment and Local Government. The event took place at 7 pm at the Upper Kingsclear Community Centre and thirty-five KLSD residents were present to vote. The newly elected Advisory Committee members will serve a four year term. The doors will open for the 12th Dinner Auction sponsored by the Mactaquac Headpond Residents Inc.on October 19th at 6 pm at the Riverside Resort, 35 Mactaquac Road, French Village.

Our last Dinner-Auction was so successful that we are staying with the same format of starting with a cash bar and
viewing of auction items between 6:00–7:00 pm. There will be a raffle table, silent auction items, live auction items and door prizes.

The NB SPCA has partnered with DocuPet to issue rural dog licenses through an online registry.
